I, too, remember God being a friend for me when I was a young lad.  In early elementary school he was someone to keep me company when the other kids were 'persecuting' me.  I like your analogy of calling him a "superhero" - very fitting.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So, evidently there was a time when you thought God 'took requests' when you wanted miracles.
